The Order of the Christian Funerals strongly prefers that cremation take place ater the full funeral liturgy with the body present. However, when this is not possible the Funeral Liturgy, including Mass, may be celebrated in the presence of the cremated remains of the deceased, subject to conditions determined by the Archdiocese. Catholic Mortuaries offers a complete range of cremation packages that follow the preferred rites and the alternative cremation rites. These Parish Packages for cremation are specially designed to complement traditional Catholic observances.
All Parish Packages for cremation include the following:
- Use of facilities and staff for funeral ceremony or equipment and staff for church service.
- Cremation fee
- Professional services of our funeral director and staff including: Preparation and securing permits and death certificates, coordination with clergy and other individuals, and coordination of music
- Transfer of deceased from place of death into our care
- Embalming or refrigeration (3 days or portion thereof)
- Preparation for Viewing
- Transfer to Crematory
- Flower Allowance
- Casket/Container Allowance
- Urn Allowance
- Memorial Package Allowance
- Parish honorarium
- Free crucifix
- Death certificate - 5 certified copies
- Cremation permit
When you select one of the Cremation Parish Packages, you decide what your visitation needs are and what kind of casket or container is in keeping with your need and budget.
- The Standard Package provides you with one day of visitation at our facility and comes with a $1700 casket allowance.
- The Value Package comes with a $250 container allowance.
For an additional fee, we offer three Remembrance Options to help you personalize the package you select.
- The Devotion Option includes arrangements for a free premium crucifix, religious themed register book, memorial folders, acknowledgement cards and urn.
- The Veterans Option includes arrangements for an American flag (with a wooden flag case), a Veteran's themed register book, memorial folders, acknowledgement cards and urn.
- The Gathering Option includes a $1210 cremation casket allowance, preparation for viewing and visitation at our facility (1 day).
